5. John Gallup Jr. Born on 25 Jan 1620 in Bridport, Dorsetshire, England.1 John died in Narragansett Fort, South Kingston, RI. on 19 Dec 1675; he was 55.1 Buried in 1675 in Mass Burial At Narragansett Fort, South Kingstown, Rhode Island.1

"Young Gallup, also born in England, came to Boston in 1633 with his
parents, 3 brothers, and a sister. His father, John, Sr. was a ship
cap tain and trader and John, Jr., was with him on his little sloop whe n
they rec aptured the ship of John Oldham who had been killed by the Blo ck
Island India ns - the first naval battle in New England waters and an
incident leading to the Pequot War. He married Hannah Lake, niece of
Governor Winthrop's wife, an d no doubt this connection brought him to N ew

When King Philips War broke o ut, although he was over 60, he joined wi th
Capt. John Mason of Norwich. They engaged in a fearful swamp fight at
Naragansett, (South Kingston, Rhode Isla nd) December 19, 1675. He was o ne
of six Captains who fell.

Between 1642-1643 when John was 21, he married Hannah Anna Lake, daughter of John Lake VI & Margaret Reade, in Boston, Middlesex Co., MA.1 Born bef 3 Jul 1621 in North Benfleet, England.1 Hannah Anna died in Ipswich MA on 19 Dec 1675; she was 54.1

7. Samuel Gallup. Born on 16 Aug 1629 in Mosterne, Dorset, England. Samuel died Between 1667-1679; he was 37.

8. William Gallup. Born b. Abt. 1622 in Mosterne, County Dorset, England.

9. Frances Gallup. Born abt 1625 in Bridport, Dorsetshire, England. Frances died on 18 Nov 1625 in Bridport, Dorsetshire, England.

10. Nathaniel Gallup. Born on 16 Aug 1629 in Mosterne, County Dorset, England. Nathaniel died in Boston, Suffolk Co., MA in 1676; he was 46.
